BlackBerry Venice video shows how the QWERTY slides on the Android model

Earlier today, we passed along a video of the BlackBerry Venice slider that had been tweeted by Evan Blass. The video showed fleeting images of the QWERTY, and a view from the side, showing two versions of the device. One version is expected to be powered by Android while the other model should feature BlackBerry 10.

Blass (who became a celebrity leaker as @evleaks), has sent out another tweet featuring a quick five-second GIF of the Venice (which we have embedded as a YouTube video below). Right off the bat, we can see that this device is running on Android. We also get to see how the slider mechanism opens, revealing the physical QWERTY keyboard.

Based on the latest rumors, we could see the BlackBerry Venice launch in November, in time to take advantage of the holiday shopping season. And the latest word we have is that all four major carriers in the U.S. will be offering the phone.

Android users are getting excited about the Venice, which could feature a 5.4-inch screen with curved sides, a 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution screen, a Snapdragon 808 SoC, 3GB of RAM and an 18MP rear camera with OIS. Can this slider turn around BlackBerry's fortunes in hardware? Many thought the same about the BlackBerry Passport, but the latter has become too much of a device for enterprise use. The Venice, on the other hand, appears to be designed with consumers in mind. Some of that might have to do with seeing Android power the unit.
