Google has commended the 605th commemoration of the Prague Astronomical Clock, one of the most established working timepieces on the planet, with another Doodle.<br />
<br />
The Doodle replaces the web search tool's second "o" with a pastel-shaded drawing of the time telling gadget.<br />
<br />
"Today's Doodle respects af great accomplishment in medieval building and a social milestone whose imagery, configuration, and irregular repairs are a wonderful list of Europe's past," said Google.<br />

1. The clockmaker behind the timepiece is accepted to have been blinded in the wake of making it<br />
<br />
As per legend Prague's councilors, who appointed the clock, dreaded the clockmaker would imitate the gadget in another town. So as to keep the machine interesting, the councilors are said to have broken into the clockmaker's home and blinded him with a bit of iron.<br />
<br />
2. The clock was extremely harmed by the Nazis<br />
<br />
Amid Prague Uprising in May 1945, the Nazis harmed the clock so extremely with hostile to air ship firearms that it ceased for a long time. The check was repaired again in 1948.<br />
<br />
3. A Catholic minister and a researcher built the clock<br />
<br />
The check was made in 1410 by the Catholic Priest Mikulas Kadan and researcher Jan Sindel. Sindel was the space expert in the blending and Mikulas, the more adroit clockmaker.

The smartwatch is still rocking back and forth trying to find its true calling. Manufacturers are exploring all sorts of compromises between the all-out bright colorful displays and the classic mechanical watches and with features ranging from comprehensive activity tracking and voice calls to simple notifications.<br />

It closer to the latter where Vector is positioning its lineup of smartwatches. A traditional case, either a 44mm round one, or a 40.5mm-tall rectangular one, comes in a choice of either plain brushed stainless steel or in black, rose cold and champagne gold colors. 22mm straight or tapered leather straps or a 22mm steel bracelet complete the classic look.<br />

Only, you won't find a mechanical movement inside and the watch face will be shown on an always-on monochrome display - customizable, naturally. In terms of design, that helps mask the otherwise huge bezels - with white hands on black background, they don't pop out as much.<br />
<br />
The smartwatch connects via Bluetooth to your phone (anything running iOS 8, Android 4.4 or WP 8.1 or newer versions) and can display notifications and reminders, and... Well, that's about it.<br />
<br />
There's no heart rate monitor, step counter, GPS or any of that fitness tracking stuff. But the smartwatch will be able to last a whole month on a single charge, Vector says. Try that, Apple/Huawei/LG G watches.<br />

Remember those old commercials for Folgers crystals? The camera would be inside an expensive restaurant showing a well-dressed couple consuming cups of coffee from a high priced china set. In a hushed tone, the announcer would say something like, "Today, we've secretly replaced the coffee at this expensive restaurant where intellectual snobs go to be seen, with Folgers crystals. Let's see if these pompous asses can tell the difference."<br />
<br />
O.K., we might be exaggerating a little. Now what would happen if instead of coffee, a 2002 Porsche 911 was used. And instead of Folgers crystals, four Apple iPhone 5s units and four Apple iPhone 4s units replaced the front and rear brake pads on the car, respectively. Could the iPhones stop the 911 at various speeds? <br />
<br />
At 20mph, there was plenty of grinding when the brakes were applied, but all eight handsets were apparently still working. At 40mph, the iPhones started falling apart and a small fire needed to be extinguished. At 60mph, well, we don't want to spoil the ending. We will tell you that some of the phones were useless after this test, even though they showed signs of life. The remaining units were as dead as could be.<br />
<br />
We should remind you not to try this at home. Smartphones are not made to be used as brake pads.<br />

Google has released factory images of Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) for Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi), Nexus 7 2013 (Wi-Fi) and Nexus 10 devices, soon after it released factory images for the Nexus Player. Google Nexus 10 even received 13.9 MB Android 5.1.1 over-the-air (OTA) update today, as noted by Android Police.</div>

The Android 5.1.1 update doesn’t add any new features like the Android 5.1 update, which was released last month. This is just a minor update with minor fixes and enhancements.</div>

You can download factory images for these from the Google Developers website here. OTA update is not available as of now. Google has not rolled out the update for other devices yet. Google has taken several incremental steps to boost the responsiveness and security of its enterprise cloud services offering.<br />
<br />
On Monday, the company said it has added load-balancing technology in a dozen new cities in the U.S and Europe, to help reduce network latency for customers close to those areas.<br />
<br />
Google’s new points of presence for its cloud services include Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, London, Paris and Stockholm. The locations bring to 70 the total number of sites spread over 33 countries that Google is using to deliver cloud services in to enterprise customers<br />
<br />
The expansion gives Google a way to distribute Google Cloud Platform workloads closer to the locations from where users are actually accessing it, Google’s cloud networking product management lead Morgan Dollard said in a blog post.<br />
<br />
With the expansion, “[enterprise workloads] running on Google Cloud Platform are closer in proximity to your users who are making service requests from all over the globe,” Dollard said. Distributing workloads in such fashion allows Google to reduce the time it needs to deliver cloud application services to customers regardless of where they are located.<br />
<br />
Google has also expanded its portfolio of so-called Carrier Interconnect service providers in a bid to give cloud customers more options for securely linking their networks with Google’s infrastructure.<br />
<br />
Organizations that need to constantly pull or push data between Google’s cloud storage and their own data centers or those that require fast request-response cycles can use these Carrier Interconnect providers to establish a secure connection between their network infrastructures and Google.<br />
<br />
With Monday’s announcement, Google has added 11 new such providers including CloudStar, Megaport, EU Networks and InterCloud.<br />
<br />
Google also announced a beta version of a Google Compute Engine virtual private network service that lets organizations integrate their network with their data in the Google Cloud via an IPsec encrypted connection.<br />
<br />
“Alternatively, you can use it to connect two different Google Comp Engine VPN gateways,” Dollard wrote in his blog. The new service supports site-to-site VPN and allows enterprises to have multiple encrypted tunnels to a single VPN gateway.<br />
<br />
Static routes that allow enterprises to manage traffic between Compute Engine virtual machines and their infrastructure are also supported by the new beta VPN service.<br />
<br />
The service enhancements help Google meet two important technology goals, according to Dollard wrote. The first is to better leverage Google’s global network footprint to deliver faster, more responsive service for cloud customers.<br />
<br />
“The second goal relates to enabling enterprises to run mission-critical workloads by connecting their on-premises infrastructure to Google’s network with enterprise-grade encryption,” he wrote.<br />
<br />
Google has made multiple technology and service updates in recent months to boost the enterprise capabilities of its cloud service offerings. Still, the company ranks well behind Amazon, and to a lesser extent behind Microsoft, in cloud service market share, partly as a result of what analysts believe is a lack of differentiation from other providers.<br />
<br />
Analysts note that Google has tended to rely largely on its ability to cut prices and deliver low-cost services as it tries to grow market share.<br />

China has acquired a powerful new weapon in its efforts to strictly control internet access and content.<br />
<br />
That’s according to a new report released Apr. 10 by Citizen Lab, a research group at the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs. It sheds more light on the recent distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks against popular programming site GitHub, and the nonprofit site GreatFire.org, which replicates websites already blocked by Chinese censors.<br />
<br />
Citizen Lab says it had identified the new weapon—which it has named China’s “Great Cannon”—responsible for both attacks.<br />
<br />
Located within China’s massive “Great Firewall” censorship apparatus, the Great Cannon appears to operate as a separate tool that “hijacks traffic to (or presumably from) individual IP addresses, and can arbitrarily replace unencrypted content as a man-in-the-middle,” according to Citizen Lab.<br />
<br />
In the case of online code repository GitHub, the Great Cannon was able to alter script distributed by Chinese search engine Baidu, redirecting massive amounts of “bad traffic” back towards GitHub’s servers in late March, reports the Verge. The attack, which lasted several days, was the largest the company had ever experienced.<br />
<br />
While the Great Cannon’s ability to target and potentially take down websites is worrying enough, it’s also possible that the technology could be tweaked in order to plant malware in millions of computers communicating with vulnerable Chinese servers, according to TechCrunch.<br />
<br />
Those familiar with Edward Snowden’s revelations may remember that the US already has this capability through the formerly top-secret NSA program QUANTUM. Unlike the US government, which attempted to keep the existence of QUANTUM a secret, China does not seem particularly concerned with hiding this newest addition to it censorship arsenal. This brazenness both confuses and concerns the researchers at Citizen Lab.<br />
<br />
We remain puzzled as to why the GC’s operator chose to first employ its capabilities in such a publicly visible fashion. Conducting such a widespread attack clearly demonstrates the weaponization of the Chinese Internet to co-opt arbitrary computers across the web and outside of China to achieve China’s policy ends. The repurposing of the devices of unwitting users in foreign jurisdictions for covert attacks in the interests of one country’s national priorities is a dangerous precedent—contrary to international norms and in violation of widespread domestic laws prohibiting the unauthorized use of computing and networked systems.<br />

It seems like Google is working on a teleconferencing service. Dubbed as GMeet, the service will allow users to schedule or join a conference call with just one click.<br />
<br />
This service was first spotted by Google+ user Florian Kiersch. With the help of GMeet, a user could create a meeting topic in GMeet, then invite everyone else to the call. People who received an invite would be able to then join the call with a single click. These screeshots are of an Android App, however Kiersch claims that the company also working on building a GMeet Chrome extension.<br />
<br />
Florien claims that the service is only open to Google employees, but it’s unclear if GMeet is intended solely for Google employee use. It is not clear is the GMeet app is for consumers at general or if it will be a enterprise product. Google Meet would work in a similar way as Google Hangouts, allowing for voice and/or video calls to be conducted over the service.<br />

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge also bent at 110 pounds, though one of the 
curved sides of the display cracked. It's protected by Gorilla Glass 4, 
but the shape of the side makes it more susceptible to cracking. The S6 
edge could still power on though so it was put in the press again until 
it broke at 149 pounds.</span></div>

Finally, the HTC One M9 first bent at 120 pounds which was its undoing 
too. The Power button was moved from the top to the center of the right 
side, exactly where the phone bends (phones tend to bend at the side 
buttons). The One M9 could not power on after that.</span></div>

OnePlus One owners were all set for what would be a ROM for their flagship killers back in February. enjoyed with their devices. Gestures are baked in, and quick settings

anticipated, OxygenOS is really a feature augmentation to Lollipop, as

Essentially, it's a tough-looking suitcase, whose lid can be raised to create a table whenever you need it. So the next time you're at the airport and there's a huge crowd of people at the tiny table filling in their immigration and customs forms, you can just avoid the hassle and make your own table.<br />

There are zipper compartments under the table top, so when you lift the lid, you also reveal all these compartments, which look like a great place to keep your charger cables and other small pieces of gear that normally get lost amongst the other things.<br />

The best part though, is that you can get the McChi with a 20,000mAh power bank and 2 USB ports - that should charge most phones at least 7-8 times. There is also a digital battery readout, so you always know how when it's time to top up the battery.<br />
<br />
The McChi will be accepting funding until May 1, and the smallest size with USB will set you back by $224. The medium size USB version is $244, and the large size USB version costs $499. That sounds a little expensive, but it's made using ABS plastic - other cabin bags we found made online with the same material cost around Rs. 10,000, and this bag also has an aluminium frame and steel corners, so it's not actually unreasonable.<br />
<br />
The project has a $7,500 goal and 29 days to hit the target. If it meets this goal, the estimated delivery is for July 2015, around in the world.</div>

Google has launched a new Chrome browser extension called Data Saver, which can be used to save bandwidth and time when loading Web pages. The service has till now been primarily targeted at mobile users, since they suffer from limited connectivity and try to save expensive data. However, with the launch of this extension, Google has made the service available to PC users of the Chrome browser as well.</div>

The Data Saver extension, currently in beta, can be downloaded from the Chrome Web Store. Google has been quiet about this launch, refraining from making any announcements on the same. The extension was released on the Chrome Web Store on March 23.</div>

The extension will only work on Chrome 41 and above, and should turn on by default immediately after installation. It can be disabled and re-enabled through settings. It should also be pointed out that the extension does not function when used with secure (HTTPS) sites and during Incognito mode.</div>

Google's Data Saver feature has been available for mobile devices through Chrome for Android and Chrome for iOS in release form since January 2014. Although Qualcomm is still the largest supplier of mobile chipsets, its largest rival, MediaTek, is trying hard to shorten the distance between itself and the market leader, inching towards the maker of Snapdragon chips slowly yet steady. The Taiwan-based chip maker already has the upper hand in the entry-level market and a slight supremacy in the mid-range one, as many representatives of these segments are powered by its chips. But more prominent presence in the high-end segment is still a bit elusive for the manufacturer; however, its upcoming top-tier chipsets might make it a bit more competitive in this regard.<br />

MediaTek recently announced its new high-end chipset family that will make the rounds this year - Helio. It consists of two sub-families, Helio X and Helio P. As we said, both are top-tier ones, though there's little to no information about the Helio P. MediaTek actually unveiled details about only one chip in particular, the Helio X10, which is a 64-bit chipset with eight Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.2GHz.<br />
<br />
Additionally, the Helio X10 supports display refresh rates of up to 120Hz and slow-motion video recording at up to 480fps in undisclosed resolution, which sounds pretty exciting. As a refresher, the current slo-mo champions - the iPhone 6 & the 6 Plus - can record videos at 240fps.<br />
<br />
There's no word on the specs or the features of the other chipset lineup, the Helio P, which is described as a family of "premium performance chips". We are pretty sure that MediaTek will provide more details about it as 2015 progresses. What's more, we should expect the first Helio-powered smartphones sometime in Q2 2015.<br />
<br />
Undoubtedly, the Helio X and probably the Helio P chipset lines are aimed directly at Qualcomm and Samsung, which are the makers of some of the most powerful smartphone chipsets in the industry right now - the Snapdragon 810 is powering HTC's newest flagship, the One M9, while Samsung is setting a new bar with its 14nm FinFET Exynos 7420 chipset which is churning the gears of its Galaxy S6/S6 edge troopers.<br />

<span style="color: #666666;">This past Saturday, Igor Komarov, the current chief of Roscosmos, announced that Russia and NASA would work together to build and launch a brand new space station.</span><br />

The announcement was made during a conference held at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, following the successful departure of NASA's Scott Kelly and Roscosmos' Mikhail Kornienko and Gennady Padalka to the space station currently orbiting our planet.<br />
<br />
“We have agreed that Roscosmos and NASA will be working together on the program of a future space station,” Igor Komarov reportedly told the press, as cited by RT.<br />
<br />
The Roscosmos chief did not disclose any information about where this new space station would be designed and built, or about when we should expect to witness it being launched into Earth's orbit.<br />
<br />
He did, however, mention that other space agencies would be more than welcome to join the team and work closely with NASA and Roscosmos to build a replacement for the International Space Station, scheduled to cease operating in 2024.<br />
And now the bad news: NASA is yet to confirm these plans<br />

Roscosmos' Igor Komarov might be convinced that NASA and Russia are to work together on building a new space station, but as it turns out, NASA isn't so sure about it.<br />
<br />
The US agency is yet to confirm or blatantly deny Igor Komarov's headline-grabbing announcement, which, truth be told, makes the entire affair a wee embarrassing for Roscosmos and Russia.<br />
<br />
Thus, NASA has until now only confirmed that Russia is to continue being involved in operations aboard the International Space Station until 2024 and that it would not mind having Roscosmos help it launch a Mars mission sometime in the 2030s.<br />
<br />
“We are pleased Roscomos wants to continue full use of the International Space Station through 2024,” NASA spokesperson David Weaver said in a statement, as cited by Engadget.<br />
<br />
How and why Roscosmos' Igor Komarov ended up convinced that NASA and Russia would join hands and resources to build a new space station remains a mystery.<br />

Nearly five years following its debut, the beleaguered Windows Phone still suffers from a lack of apps. Recent, high-profile additions like WatchESPN have mitigated things, but the truth remains that the offerings on the Android and iOS app stores positively dwarf Microsoft’s own. The App Store and Play Store respectively boast an app catalog north of 1 million, while the Windows Phone Store just last November reached 187,000. Microsoft is acutely aware of this fact, and in response is reportedly experimenting with Android app emulation within the upcoming Windows Phone 10.<br />
<br />
According to Neowin, the scope of the emulation is quite wide. As the software currently stands, most Android apps are compatible, and some builds even sport a working Google Play Store client. Of course, questions about the legality of the emulation’s implementation and its potential effects on native Windows Phone development have kept the project from being green-lit thus far.<br />
<br />
Technical concerns may also be playing a part. BlackBerry’s own Android emulation solution in the BlackBerry 10 operating system was plagued with limitations and performance issues, and required manually downloading and installing apps. It’s since been improved, but Microsoft would no doubt rather avoid the same user backlash its competitor endured.<br />
<br />
On the other hand, Microsoft may do better to stay the course. The company is on the cusp of releasing Windows 10, and with it, refreshed development tools that may finally make creating and publishing multi-platform apps simpler. Separately, Microsoft’s aiming to address the issue of market share by producing a program that can easily convert Android devices to Windows Phones.<br />
If successful, those efforts could give Windows Phone the boost it needs to compete with incumbents. Still, Microsoft will have to act quickly. While the company’s still committed to “the long game,” the Wall Street Journal reports, it’s already spent billions of dollars to prop up the Windows Phone ecosystem, and Microsoft has nothing but falling market share to show for it.</div>

Apple is expected to launch three new iPhone models this year - the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, and iPhone 6C - claims a report citing industry sources.<br />

While the report suggests that the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will be the incremental updates from last year's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, it adds the iPhone 6C will be cheaper variant of the handset that the Cupertino-based giant will launch to tap the emerging markets, which also includes India. All three are due in the second half of 2015.<br />

No reasoning was given as to why the 'S' in the model names will be upper-case. Digitimes suggests that the new iPhone models will pack LTPS panels supplied by various companies including Japan Display, Sharp and LG Display, and will also feature Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The report adds that the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will use the A9 chips while the iPhone 6C will be backed by A8 chips. Other highlight features such as NFC and fingerprint scanner will be present on all three iPhone expected to launch later this year.<br />

The rumoured 4-inch iPhone has been in news for some time and was claimed to be targeted at "female users". The handset, tentatively called iPhone 6C, is said to replace the iPhone 5c, which was priced in an entry-level to mid-range smartphone segment for Apple, according to sources in Taiwan's handset supply chain. The report stresses that Apple will work on the iPhone 6C's design, pricing and timing of the launch.<br />
<br />
One of the sources pointed out, "The adoption of a plastic case for the 5C, which made the iPhone look cheaper than its family products, contributed to lower-than-expected sales of the model." Another sources however added that Apple might still prefer plastic cases for the iPhone 6C as it helps check the production costs.<br />

Further commenting about the pricing of the iPhone 6C, a source added that it should be priced around $400-500 in the US. "Shipment performance of iPhone devices in emerging markets, including India, Africa and Latin America, has been flat, as consumers in these markets are more concerned about pricing," notes the report.<br />

The 4-inch iPhone could also tie-in with a recent Wall Street Journal report that claimed Apple is working on a Pink variant of the handset as the successor the iPhone 5c. The report had added the Cupertino giant was looking to use its new pressure-sensitive Force Touch technology introduced in the new 12-inch MacBook to its next iPhone models as well.<br />

In another report Digitimes claims that the rumoured iPhone 6C will be manufactured by Wistron while the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will be assembled by Foxconn and Pegatron. It adds that Wistron and Compal Electronics joined Apple as manufacturing partners recently and that while the former handles older generation iPhone models; the latter assembles iPads.<br />

Digitimes also suggests that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) will be the main supplier of processors to Apple in the second half of 2015. It adds that the 20nm chips for the iPhone 6C and 16nm FinFET chips for iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will be supplied by TSMC.<br />

Brian Acton, Co-founder WhatsApp, at a recent event confirmed that the voice calling feature will be rolled out to iOS users in "couple weeks".<br />

While speaking at Facebook's F8 developers' conference, Acton said that WhatsApp team "refined and iterated voice calling" last year before launching it on Android. Unfortunately, Acton did not reveal (via Venture Beat) an exact time-frame for the release of the voice calling feature on iOS, and when pressed later disambiguated to say, "Well, several weeks."<br />

Acton's statement however is the first official confirmation of the start of the rollout of the voice calling feature, which began with Android users earlier this month. Unfortunately, WhatsApp voice calling feature is being rolled out in phases, which means it is currently available to limited users and invites only work within specific time periods.<br />

Leaked screenshots claimed to be from a jailbroken iPhone running the WhatsApp v2.11.17.444 beta app showing off the UI of the WhatsApp voice calling feature surfaced earlier this month. The screenshots showed a UI that was in-line with the interface spotted last month.<br />

The leaked WhatsApp for iPhone screenshots showed mute, message, and speaker options while in-call, with 'WhatsApp Call' clearly marked on the top left of the calling screen. Notably, the current WhatsApp version available to download from the App Store is 2.11.16, tipping that the voice calling feature might be rolled out with the next app update.</div>

With an aim to bolster its Appstore installs, Amazon is said to be launching a new “Unlocked” program, as per Tech Crunch. This service will offer paid apps and games absolutely free.<br />

The report describes Unlocked as “Amazon Prime for apps,” and it would offer paid apps for free, and even unlock all in-app purchases for “free-to-play” games. Developers can leave Unlocked, and when they do, users will have to begin paying for in-app purchases again.<br />

Google has started rolling out a new feature to some Android users that will make it the unlocking of a smartphone very easy. The company is adding “On-Body detection” to Smart Lock.<br />
<br />
The On-Body detection feature make it sure that your smartphone remains unlocked when you are holding your device or carrying it with you. It uses your device’s accelerometer to detect whether your device is still being carried on the body. “If your device detects that it’s no longer being held, your device won’t stay unlocked,” reads Google’s note. When you place it on a table or some other surface, it locks your phone again.<br />

The screenshots are apparently from a Nexus 4 running Android 5.0.1 and Google Play Services 7.0.97. The owner says that the feature appeared after performing a factory reset on the device. The device will remain locked when you pick it back up. And if you pass an unlocked phone over to another person it remains unlocked.<br />
<br />
On-body detection appears to be gradually rolling out now to users running Android 5.0 or newer with the latest version of the Play Services app.<br />

Facebook is said to be working on a new app called Phone, which will show users information about who is calling and come with other features like automatic blocking of calls from numbers blocked by the community.<br />

According to a report by Android Police, some users got a notice to try the new Phone app, but received a page not found error when they tried to complete the download. As a result, there's very little known about the app, apart from the text that appeared on the screen.<br />

"Phone is a new app that shows you info about who is calling and automatically blocks calls from commonly blocked numbers," the description of the app read. It seems from the description that the app could be a replacement for the dialer app that comes with your Android phone. It is worth noting that Facebook already introduced the calling feature in its Messenger app.<br />

Facebook has been lately working a lot on bringing more features to its mobile users. The firm this week announced a system to send money to friends for US customers using its Messenger app, something which was tipped in October last year.<br />

The update to the Windows 10 Technical preview includes a couple of minor updates and some design tweaks. First up, there is a new transparent look to the Start Menu and the background has also received a faded look. The All Apps list is easier to use for tablet owners and comes with a larger button. Moving on, the virtual desktop has been improved as you can now drag and a window to the “+” icon to both create a Virtual Desktop and move the window to it in single step. A filtered Alt+Tab has been added so you only see the windows on the given Virtual Desktop.<br />

Microsoft’s virtual assistant is now live for China, the UK, France, Italy, Germany, and Spain besides the US. Other additions include an improved network access menu and a new lock-screen. Finally, there are a number of enhancements to the Photo app that now shows images from OneDrive in the Live Tile image rotation. Additionally, Photos now supports RAW image files from many camera models.</div>
