One of the major caveats with the Google Nexus 9 has been the comparatively high cost versus its peers. With some configurations lurking uncomfortably near to the $600 mark, it has long been at the higher end of the pricing spectrum, and to many, unjustifiably so. But with the shelf life of mobile hardware tending to be a 12-month thing, the Google-branded, HTC-made slab is quickly approaching relic status.
