Apple's new iPhones (but mostly the iPhone 6 Plus) were extensively tested by different outlets and found to bend a lot easier than competing products.<br /> <br /> Obviously this hasn't stopped Apple from selling millions and millions of those phones, but the company has apparently been working on a fix for bendgate for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus that should be outed in a few weeks.<br /> <br /> Mainly this has to do with using a different type of aluminum alloy this year, one that's stronger and bends less easily. This will be more expensive for Apple, but with the margins it still commends we assume that won't be a problem.<br /> <br /> So just how much stronger is this new alloy compared to the one used last year? However, as you may remember, Google didn't rule out the possibility of making Android Wear work with other platforms. In fact, according to The Verge, Google is already "close to finishing the final technical details" that will let Android Wear users pair their smartwatches with iOS devices. Naturally, this would enable all Android Wear wearables to directly compete with the Apple Watch, which will be launched later this month, on April 24.<br /> <br /> Reportedly, Android Wear smartwatches should be able to work with iOS thanks to a companion app that currently offers basic functionality (including notifications). Of course, it remains to be seen if Apple will approve the Android Wear app for iOS. All three are due in the second half of 2015.<br /> <br /> No reasoning was given as to why the 'S' in the model names will be upper-case. Digitimes suggests that the new iPhone models will pack LTPS panels supplied by various companies including Japan Display, Sharp and LG Display, and will also feature Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The report adds that the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will use the A9 chips while the iPhone 6C will be backed by A8 chips. Other highlight features such as NFC and fingerprint scanner will be present on all three iPhone expected to launch later this year.<br /> <br /> The rumoured 4-inch iPhone has been in news for some time and was claimed to be targeted at "female users". The handset, tentatively called iPhone 6C, is said to replace the iPhone 5c, which was priced in an entry-level to mid-range smartphone segment for Apple, according to sources in Taiwan's handset supply chain. The report stresses that Apple will work on the iPhone 6C's design, pricing and timing of the launch.<br /> <br /> One of the sources pointed out, "The adoption of a plastic case for the 5C, which made the iPhone look cheaper than its family products, contributed to lower-than-expected sales of the model." Another sources however added that Apple might still prefer plastic cases for the iPhone 6C as it helps check the production costs.<br /> <br /> Further commenting about the pricing of the iPhone 6C, a source added that it should be priced around $400-500 in the US. "Shipment performance of iPhone devices in emerging markets, including India, Africa and Latin America, has been flat, as consumers in these markets are more concerned about pricing," notes the report.<br /> <br /> The 4-inch iPhone could also tie-in with a recent Wall Street Journal report that claimed Apple is working on a Pink variant of the handset as the successor the iPhone 5c. The report had added the Cupertino giant was looking to use its new pressure-sensitive Force Touch technology introduced in the new 12-inch MacBook to its next iPhone models as well.<br /> <br /> In another report Digitimes claims that the rumoured iPhone 6C will be manufactured by Wistron while the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will be assembled by Foxconn and Pegatron. It adds that Wistron and Compal Electronics joined Apple as manufacturing partners recently and that while the former handles older generation iPhone models; the latter assembles iPads.<br /> <br /> Digitimes also suggests that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) will be the main supplier of processors to Apple in the second half of 2015. The “iPhone 6S” is also expected to have an Apple SIM pre-installed, enabling buyers to select from multiple carriers.<br /> <br /> According to an AppleInsider source, both the “iPhone 6S” and the “iPhone 6S Plus” will be upgraded to 2GB of RAM. AppleInsider claimed that the unnamed source has provided reliable information in the past so this rumor seems to be substantiated. Apple iPhones have been shipping with 1GB of RAM since 2012 so the iOS-based smartphones are due for an upgrade.<br /> <br /> <br /> Apple first introduced 1GB of RAM in its custom A-series CPUs when the third-generation iPad was released in March 2012. Six months later, Apple revealed that the iPhone 5 would be upgraded to 1GB of RAM from the iPhone 4S’ 512MB of RAM. Apple may follow the same pattern considering the iPad Air 2 — which started shipping in October 2014 —  has 2GB of RAM in the A8X chip .<br /> <br /> What is the benefit of additional RAM? Extra RAM enables your smartphone to handle multiple tasks at once. This means it can handle many more tabs in a browser and faster responses from apps since more data can be stored in the memory, thus reducing the need for the smartphone to constantly access the slower flash storage. The difference in RAM is especially noticeable when you are playing games on your device.<br /> <br /> <br /> The pre-installed SIM that Apple debuted in the iPad Air 2 lets users sign up for mobile data plans from participating carriers in the Settings app without having to sign a contract. The Apple SIM offers the ability to choose from short-term plans offered by carriers in the U.S. (AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint) and the U.K. (EE). The Apple SIM in the iPad Air 2 supports 20 different LTE bands within the GSM and CDMA standards, according to Wired. Support for multiple bands and standards makes it easier to use the iPad Air 2 while traveling overseas.<br /> <br /> Providers can be switched at any time using the Apple SIM, but there are several limitations. For example, iPad Air 2 buyers that initially start a contract with AT&T will not be able to use that SIM on other networks. Using the iPad Air 2 for Verizon will require you to have a Verizon SIM since that phone carrier decided not to support the Apple SIM at all.
